I am not quite a Beginner. I have taught English in China for 2 years and have a vocabulary of about 600 words (Putonghua). I will be returning to China once again and would like to be able to have a conversation with some of the Chinese teachers of subjects other than English.
For 6 weeks in the summer of 2005, I travelled around China on my own, occasionally joining a Chinese tour group for a few days. I have enough Chinese language to be able to make myself understood but not to solve any problems. I also have difficulty in understanding the response. The speaker sees an adult and talks in adult terms. When they simplify it, it is easier for me to understand them.
I live between Barrie and Orillia, Ontario, Canada and would like private lessons in this area.

I am a beginner in learning Chinese and Korean, although I'm a little more intermediate when it comes to Japanese. I'm learning these languages just because I enjoy it and I think they will help me out in my career path eventually. Mostly in all of them I need to improve on my conversation skills, I dislike working on it but I know I have to. I pick up writing and grammar, etc very quickly so it's not as much of a problem.
I'm looking mainly for Korean or Chinese help right now. I plan to go to China soon and I'd like to practice more and get used to the language again before I go. I would just like to have a patient teacher who will focus more on the positive than what I'm doing wrong.
