Proficiency level is beginner. The reason why I am interested in learning Vietnamese is to communicate with my girlfriend's paretns. I am interested in learning the Vietnamese language. I would be at a very beginner level but have frequent contact with Vietnamese community members. I would like to have some mastery of the language -- at least an abundance of essentials and a good competency in general communication situations. I am an adult learner.
