I am interested in learning basic Mandarin, especially focused on the writing system. I lived in Korea for 3 years while I worked as an ESL professor and studied Korean. I find that my progress in Korean is hindered by my lack of knowledge of Chinese characters. I would like to learn basic Chinese characters (perhaps a few hundred over time)to help me progress in Korean, as well as the basics of how the Mandarin language works grammatically to satisfy my own curiosity. I'd like to become able to have basic, simple conversations , as well as do simple reading. At present, I have absolutely no knowledge of Mandarin, but I am a fast language learner, and am willing to dedicate myself sincerely to the effort.

I want to learn standard Mandarin Chinese for daily conversation and hopefully to advance to business conversation. I'm currently a beginner. Method of preference is live, in person. I don't mind any class size. Preferably once a week, for a couple of hours. Please state your asking tuition fee and lesson location. Teacher should be a native speaker from PRC (NOT Singaporean). My Aunt is Chinese and at her house in the summer she had started to teach me Mandarin. Being so interested, I would like to continue learning this language since my aunt has gone back to Hong Kong. I therefore am a beginner and know only a few things. I want to learn this so I can get a job to study abroad. I would like a teacher that can teach me the language in an easy understandabl e way, because I am not looking to learn the language in a certain amount of time
