I am studying Farsi (beginner level) in order to learn the vocal Radif, study the classical Persian poets, and travel in Iran. I seek to develop perfect conversationa l and formal fluency and a thorough knowledge of literary conventions. I would like to meet one-on-one with an instructor thoroughly grounded in classical literary Persian 1-3 times a week. I am Iranian by descent, have very basic reading and writing skills, decent conversation skills, and understand quite bit, if not everything. I am seeking language instruction purely for personal reasons, to be able to communicate more in Persian circles, to learn to read and write like an adult. I would like to be able to communicate easily, instead of in fragmented sentences/tho ughts.
I am looking for someone who is very patient, and very diligent. Someone who gives assignments, and follows a set plan. I would like to better my grammar and vocabulary, and I think this requires a good set of materials.
I'd like to have one or two lessons per week of 1 1/2 hours. I can devote a bit of time every day to homework and reading.
