I am planning on traveling across Russia this summer. I speak basically no Russian but have taught myself the Cyrillic alphabet (print, not handwriting) and have extensive experience in learning other languages, including German.
Of course I want to learn basic travel phrases, but I want to go a bit beyond that to basic conversation, reading, and grammar. Lessons would be about 90 minutes once per week, with assigned homework (ungraded, just to give me some reinforcement ). I have a textbook we can use.

I lived in Russia and Ukraine for 10 years during the 90's, but my language skills are deteriorating and I want to improve them so I am always understood, especially by skype and telephone.
More importantly, we adopted our son from Ukraine and we are raising him bilingually. I only speak Russian to him. As he gets older and my Russian gets worse this is getting harder and harder.
I need someone who can listen to me and identify what I have to work on. I am willing to do as much work as necessary. I like to be held accountable, so homework between lessons is great.
Whatever it takes, I must get better!!
