I am a beginner. I want to be able to speak, read and write fluently at least one of the languages of the country. I love chinese movies and I understand that the country has a very rich culture and very old history. My dream is to visit mainland china, hongkong and singapore.
The time I dedicate will depend on my availability. My work and home can sometimes be rather demanding. Nevertheless I am a very dedicated learner.
I am thinking that I may have a higher success rate if my lessons are private in person, but I am willing to discuss the alternative route, as my job can require travel and therefore, lessons may be more convienent and consistent if I were to learn on line.
Qual ities in a teacher - patience, experience, accessible.

I have spent the past two years living in China. In that time I had Mandarin classes at school. My Mandarin level is Internmediate and I would like to advance my studies whilst in South Africa. I plan to be in South Africa for two years. I am looking for a tutor to come to my house three or four times a week for an hour class.

I am traveling to Beijing and to Shanghai at the end of this month (August 31st) and I'd like to learn basic greetings, phrases and directions for that trip.
However, upon my return in mid-September I'd like to resume my studies in order to learn the language for future opportunities in China and possibly to move there for work in a year or so.
