I lived in Turkey for 1 year and would like to improve my knowledge of the language. I would say I am a beginner but with some knowledge. I am a beginner. I am from the United States and will be studying at Bilgi University for the upcoming fall semester (fall of 2007). I am looking for a private tutor for the 10 days I will be in Istanbul before classes at Bilgi start.
I want to know enough basic Turkish so that I will be able to get around Istanbul while I'm there (i.e. order in restaurants, ask where the restroom is, ask how much things cost, etc.).
I would like to spend 3-6 hours a day for the dates of September 11th through September 21st.
