both languages are beginner levels. I want to learn both languages for career advancement. But, French, is partial for traveling too. I would like to be proficient within six months. Thus, I'm willing to dedicate the time necessary.
I want a teacher that has patience. I tend to learn slow at first, but once I got it down; I have it.

Hi
I am 44 and wish to develop my French skills to the extent that I am able to apply for jobs advertised as 'French speaking'. I am based in the UK but spend much of my time working in Europe. I am currently based in Brussels until around Easter 2008 and I am very keen to develop my French 'skills' while I am here.
I did French at school from the age of 11 to 16 and got a 'B' grade in my 'O'Level examination at the age of 16. Since then I have used French mainly on holidays.
I would class myself as 'intermediate '. I am able to read and understand written French pretty well. To a lesser extent I am able to write French. The particular area I wish to improve is my spoken French which I would say is poor.
In terms of time I had anticipated a couple of houres per week. I am only in Brussels Monday to Thursday each week. However I am obviously open to advice from my tutor.
In terms of qualities from my teacher I really do not mind as long as I can achieve my objective. However obviously I would like to enjoy the experience so friendly, informal and patient would be good qualities!
