We are raw beginners in Italian and have tried the group class at the ICC and found it too difficult and boring, so we are looking for a private tutor willing to take on 5-6 students in our home once a week for an hour and a half. The class we were taking was 2 and a half hours and we all found it too long. Class time would need to be in the evening and ideally a Thursday night.
We are looking for a teacher who can teach the basics in a manner that the older brain will absorb which means lots of review and reinforcement . Conversation and oral comprehension are the most important as we are planning to travel to Italy in the next year or so. We would like it to be a pleasurable evening not an endurance night.

I will be spending three months in Italy next year and want to be able to converse with local people. I am a beginner, although I did take one evening class last year. I found there was not enough emphasis on speaking the language. I anticipate two hours per week, either in person or skype. I need a patient instructor.

Hi !
I'm a 22 year-old student doing my degree in Conflict Studies in Ottawa. My native language if French, but I'm fluent in English and speak an intermediate- advanced Spanish. I would love to now learn Portuguese, as I believe it's a really beautiful language. Eventually, I'd also like to learn Italian... but one thing at the time ! Learning Portuguese represents a great deal of challenge for me, first because I will have to really disconnect it from my Spanish knowledge, and second because I believe a good Portuguese prononciation is a little harder to reach then the Spanish one !
Being a full-time student and a part-time worker, I'm a little short on the budget, so I can't afford expensive lessons. That is why I was hoping to meet someone who would like to spent some time with me here and there to introduce me to Portuguese, without it being too costy ! :)

Hello there,
My name is Aleksandra and I would love to learn Italian because I plan on attending a University in Italy for Psychology and I would like to be able to be at, at least an intermediate- expert level by the time I do apply to one of the Universities. In addition, one of the qualification s in order to apply to these universities is to be fluent in Italian. Where I am required to do a verbal and possibly a written test to prove my skills and capabilities in the Italian language.
In regards to any particular areas of improvements I don’t have any at the moment because I am a beginner. As for how dedicated I am to my language lessons I would like to do as many as possible but sparingly because I do have some time before I start applying to schools abroad.
And lastly, qualities that I am looking for in my lessons and in my teacher is that I will be able to turn to my teach for guidance when needed and to get as much as possible out of my lessons. I am a person who will strive to exceed in what is expected of me and I expect the teacher to push me till I achieve those expectations.
