I was born in Finland and immigrated to Australia when I was five years old.
I have a basic understanding of spoken Finnish and can communicate basic concepts eg the time, asking for help. However, my grammar is not very good.
I will be visiting Finland from July 10th to August 12th this year (2011), and was hoping to learn how to communicate and have and adult conversation with my family in Lappeenranta. I could devote any amount of time to the training depending on options.
I one on one teacher would be fantastic, however a class scenario would probably be more within my affordability .
I would be happy to hear of any options available to me.

I am living in Finland at the moment with my partner who is finnish. I would liike to learn finnish so I can communicate with her family and friends more and so I am able to get work much easier. I have tried to learn finnish before but the teacher didn't speak english and I got confused and didn't really learn anything so I would like to start over again. I am not so interested in writing in finnish more speaking it and being able to understand when people speak to me . I would like to do around 2-4 hours a week at first and then see what happens. And I would like a teacher who can speak a little english and that doesn't just teach the rules of the finnsh language.
