W hy Learn Chinese: We have a very close relationship now with a family in Taiwan. We hosted their daughter as an exchange student during her year at a Florida high school last year. We have since gone to Taiwan to visit her and her family. Our families are now very closely connected. I would like to be able to communicate with them better in their own language when we call and/or visit each other in the future.
Im provement: all areas.

I am looking for up to 4 hours a week.
I still consider myself a beginner even though I have been trying to learn for the last 18 months.
I have been immersing myself by using Pimsleur CD's, movies like 'To Live' and others, practicing Chinese calligraphy, some old text books, modern music (R&B) and visiting various sites using pinyin.
I need a mentor who will force me to converse with a structured learning plan.
