I have never studied Mandarin but desire to learn the language for my own personal development and also for business reasons. I would like to study intensely and will take the lessons seriously. I do speak French (not fleuntly) and have studied Russian and Swahili in the past. I am looking for a teacher that is personable, a native speaker and is will to help me achieve my goals with the language.

I am a complete novice in Chinese. I have Taiwanese born parents that speak Mandarin & Hakkian (Taiwanese). I don't speak either, but I understand a great deal of Taiwanese.
I want to learn chinese to get in touch with my heritage and help in dealing in business situations. The company I work for has a Taiwanese parent company.
I want to concentrate on conversationa l Chinese first, ordering food, and basic necessities, basic reading.
I am looking to spend time about one to two hours a week with a private tutor. Also, I will do homework as well
I'm looking for a patient teacher that I can identify what I need to work on and how to bring out my strengths as well. Patience is a must and pushing to frustration is not ideal for me.
