I will be away, and cannot take the second half of Chinese (mandarin) 300 at my college, but need to be prepared to enter 400 in the fall (of 2005). I can get course material from my teachers at college, but I need to go over the material and speak frequently with a native speaker. The material will focus on newspaper articles and written forms, but be learned in Chinese, not English.

I am a student studying at the Imperial College in Wye (near Ashford, Kent) and want to learn the Mandarin language. As I am an undergraduate and we have no such options on our campus here, I am writting to you and would like to ask if there is an opportunity that you, or any one you know, to give me private lessons in Mandarin. I have never spoken that language but am realy interested in doing so for my future career in business management. I am very flexible and would consider any opportunity for this to happen. Lessons on weekends, payment of up to 20£ per hour (depending on quality) and traveling (as long as in Kent) is now problem with me.
