Good day sir/ma'am:
I am a Filipino girl with part Chinese in my blood. To give respect to my Chinese family, I would like to learn how to speak and write Chinese, preferrably Mandarin/Fook ien. I was able to learn a few simple words like 'Thank You', 'Goodbye', and 'Sorry'. I still do not speak good of these words that is why I need to improve for my grammar, to be used for conversations afterwards. I am available for these coming two month, November and December, for the language lessons. I hope I could find a teacher who could teach me patiently, as I am quite slow in Mandarin, and one who could offer the lessons for a cheap price.

Looking for an affordable, experienced native mandarin chinese tutor for my 15 year daughter. During the last 4 years, prior to starting school in North Tacoma, Washington this fall, she attended an international school in Beijing and was studying Chinese as her foreign language. She would like to continue her Chinese studies and use it to fulfill her highschool foreign language requirement. Since Chinese is not offered at her present school, the director of the upper school is willing to work with me to allow my daughter to study with a tutor at the school premises to meet the graduation requirement. The goal is for her to take the SAT II Chinese test by her junior or senior year. I look forward to hearing from any experienced native instructors that would be able to relate to a young adult trying to learn her heritage language and making it fun and enjoyable for her.

I lived in China for 2 years, but I think I have forgotten nearly all the Mandarin that I learnt. So, I guess I would be a beginner orintermediat e, maybe?
I want to learn, because I may travel back out to China and work in business.
Time-wise, probably 2 hours or so a week, but it depends on how much I can afford!
I want the lessons to be practical and relevant to real life, not just dated text book examples, and an emphasis on speking I think.
