Hello,
I am recruiting for native Japanese translators/p roofreaders for:
- Onsite project in Austin
- 3-4 week contract position (full time, 40 hrs/per week OR part time 20hrs/per week)
- The candidate will be expected to work as a tester for the company's website; this basically means that you will be working on their website, which is already translated into Japanese.
- The main responsibilit ies would include proofreading and editing the content, and make the necessary changes where required. The candidate will perform quality check of the content.
- The website if for a company within the Hospitality industry and the content for the website pertains the marketing and advertising text for hotels and resorts.

My daughter is a college student in Ohio and asked me to research for her. She is a beginner level Japanese student. She is interested in qualifying for the JET program this fall. She has looked at the UC Berkeley summer class but would like to stay at home this summer. She wants to be able to speak well enough Japanese to live/work there for a year or two, possibly read Japanese as well. She is learning characters and vocabulary on her own now. She is not looking for a casual approach but is seriously interested in being as proficient as possible by the end of summer. She has an ear for language and strength in vocabulary memory.

I am currently a beginner in the language, though I do know like three or four solid words.
I am wanting to learn japanese for my own personal use, career advancement and it will be helpful when I plan to go to Japan in the near future.
I need improvement in all areas.
Since I work about 4-5 days a week right now, I'll dedicate about 10+ hrs to learning each week.
I am looking for a teacher who can speaks both English and Japanese and can teach me the language in a fun way. I know I've been in language classes where I don't learn a thing because the teacher was boring, so I do not want that.

I am 14 years old and I have learned some of the Japanese language on my own. I have many friends who are Japanese and I speak to them in Japanese sometimes, but I would like to have a better command of the language. I am finishing up my 4th semester of Japanese. I have run out of classes to take, however I'm not yet finished with my Bachelor's degree. I intend to join the JET program and teach English in Japan once I have completed my degree. I'm afraid that if I don't take some kind of on-going training with this language, I will forget what I have learned! My strong point is sentence structure and vocabulary. Weak points are Kanji and some of the verb/adjectiv e conjugation. My listening/con versations skills could use some work as well. I'm not sure of a schedule as far as how many hours a week I'd like to spend on tutoring, but I'm sure that's something that can be worked out. As far as tutoring goes, I require sometimes a lot of patience as I can be forgetful at times. Japanese is not easy to learn, but it's something I'm passionate about.
