My proficiency level in reading and writing would be beginner. I do know how to speak mandarin, though not fantastic.
I want to learn mandarin because I was born in China, came to Australia at the age of 8 and now at the age of 32, I am eager to learn how to read and write mandarin for future travel and work reasons.
I would like to study mandarin with a tutor, 2 hours per week.
I would prefer a female teacher from China, teach me to read and write during our lessons and give me set tasks to study at home.

I have a basic vocabulary in spoken Mandarin and a reading vocabulary specific to Chinese medicine. I have lived and traveled in Taiwan and China and would like to devote more time to improving my language skills. I would like to spend about 4-6 hours/week with a tutor or in a classroom setting. I am a beginner who wants to live in china next spring and would like to have private lessons in mandarin once or twice a week in the late evenings, afternoons or weekends. My girlfriend is fluent and leaves for china in september and i would like to able to communicate on a basic level and read some characters as well. I just graduated from swarthmore college last spring having majored in english and i am student teaching in philadeplhia this fall at mastermann school. I am looking for someone who would be able to accomodate my schedule. Other than that im pretty flexible. I would like to commit 5-10 hrs a week to learning chinese.

Hello,
I am a Canadian who has been the product of a chinese man and a french canadian woman, which is why I have an interest in reading, writting and speaking chinese(manda rin). I have very little knowledge of this language, which puts me in the beginner's rank. I work minimum 5 days a week, so I would expect to find a course that offers maybe a once a week class or something similar.
