I have no proficiency at all in the Chinese (Mandarin) language. I would like to learn the language for career advancement. I am willing to take lessons after office hours on weekdays or anytime on weekends. In terms of qualities I am looking for in a teacher, he or she should be someone who knows how to assess the learning capability and style of the student and adapt to it accordingly. She should also be patient and structured in terms of delivering his/her lessons.

Respected Sir,
I am interested in learning Chinese - Mandarin language.
My need to do so arises from the fact that my husband has got posted in China and will be stationed at Hangzhou.
I would be joining him by November this year.
I am an English Hons. graduate and want to learn chinese in order to be able to deal with the locals and to be able to converse with people, if at all i plan to teach English there. We would be in Hangzhou for three years.
