I am a beginner. I want to be able to speak, read and write fluently at least one of the languages of the country. I love chinese movies and I understand that the country has a very rich culture and very old history. My dream is to visit mainland china, hongkong and singapore.
The time I dedicate will depend on my availability. My work and home can sometimes be rather demanding. Nevertheless I am a very dedicated learner.
I am thinking that I may have a higher success rate if my lessons are private in person, but I am willing to discuss the alternative route, as my job can require travel and therefore, lessons may be more convienent and consistent if I were to learn on line.
Qual ities in a teacher - patience, experience, accessible.

I am a philosophy student studying at McGill University, interested in maintaining and developing my Mandarin Chinese. I spent the past summer studying at Nankai University in Tianjin, China. I am a comfortable beginner/earl y intermediate level student. I speak English as my first language, but I also speak French relatively fluently. I am interested in developing my Mandarin to the end of returning to China as soon as possible to travel and eventually pursue a carreer in international law with a specializatio n in Chinese negotiation. I would like to develop my Chinese in a well rounded way, written, spoken and read.

I am a native english speaker just starting to learn Mandarin. My goal is to be able to converse with Mandarin speakers in a casual setting.
I am a total beginner so I would need help in all aspects of the language, but I am willing to put in significant effort in mastering pronunciation . I also want to learn vocabulary, grammar, and writing.
I would be willing to dedicate two hours a week to language lessons, not including the time I would spend learning on my own.
I'm looking for a teacher that will not be satisfied until I have mastered the concepts that he/she is teaching.
