I am very interested in learning Chinese. I have learnt other languages with varying levels of success in my travels and at university, and now I have decided to take on something much harder. I've been studying on my own for about a year (with some help from my Chinese-speak ing workmates), and have done a beginner's course at a university.
I want to get past beginner's level, with lots of conversation and vocabulary, some grammar, and some help with characters, in a small class or one on one. I want to dedicate up to 6 or 8 hours per week to learning.

*i want to learn chinese because its for my own benefit, my personal gain of my own heritage and also my parents are forcing me to learn it. i am currently going to a chinese school but i don't think that it's helping me much and i want to quit it but my parents won't let unless i find a private tutor.
* the areas in which i feel i need particular improvement on are my grammer, learning to speak, to undertand. i know how to read and write. mostly on learning to speak it.
* i am dedicating everyday time just to learn chinese through tutoring if possible but not chinese school.
* the qualities i look for in the lesson is to be fun and interesting, to have an easy understanding of chinese language and learning to speak, write and read fluently with time.
* the qualities i look for in my teacher is a person who is fun, patient, does not yell when i make a mistake and have flexible hours.
