I would need a beginner class. I am interested in learning Mandarin because my business in expanding into the Asian market and the need to communicate is increasing. I mostly need the ability to have a conversation with another person. I can commit a few hours a week.

I'm (almost) a complete beginner, looking to learn Mandarin for enjoyment (ie. no specified purpose). I'm in Toronto only for the summer, and want to get as good a base in the language as possible before going back to Queen's University in Kingston (where I will hopefully continue my Mandarin studies through private lessons with a TA). I'm working full-time, but have weekends off and would be willing to do 2-3 hours a week in instruction plus self-study at home.
Would prefer a teacher in the Markham/Scarb orough/Richmon d Hill area - I have transportatio n usually after 4:30 (and most weekends) but would prefer not driving in downtown T.O.

Hello...I`m interested in teaching French in Tianjin...I would love to know if there are opportunities for me to teach French as a second language. I have been offered a position to teach after school programs and take Chinese lessons in the morning, but I would love to be able to teach French as well....If someone has any experience who could answer such questions, I would appreciate it.

I would like to learn Mandarin to both please my mother and career advancement in the event I ever move back to China.
I need improvement in all aspects of the Mandarin language.
I would like to dedicate a couple of hours a week (maybe three or more) depending on the price.

My proficiency level is from beginner to intermediate. I became interested in learning Mandarin since my first visit to Beijing in 2001. Now I have some Chinese friends and it has been a great experience so far learning Mandarin. I plan on going back to visit Beijing next year and it would be good to increase my learning. I need improvement in every area, but would like to concentrate on conversation. I have studied some on my own and have just finished the second level of Mandarin at a local college. I would love to be able to devote a couple hours every day to learning, but I find that very hard to do. If I am able to continue taking lessons that would be a big help to me. However, cost and location is also a factor in making my choice. I am looking for a teacher that is flexible, has some great ideas for learning and able to help me improve each time we meet.
