After a couple of times going to Thailand, and not being able to make any conversation, I feel it is time to learn some basic conversation skills before visiting my colleagues, friends, and most importantly girlfriend again. Getting every word translated all the time is getting embarassing, and also always makes that I don't have a clue what the conversations are all about.
Tha i doesn't seem to be a language which you can just learn from the book, and without the right pronounciatio n it doesn't make any sense. Whenever I try to pronounce anything from my Lonely Planet language book, it doesn't seem to make any sense.
Wit hin the next couple of Thai, I would like to be able to have a basic conversation in Thai and surprise my girlfriend next time I come over again.
Les sons online are a possibility, but willing and able to travel within Netherlands or Belgium for lessons weekly or twice a month depending on distance and schedule at work.
Teac hing me conversationa l skills, and maybe some cultural lessons is more important than teaching experience.

Do you offer intense courses near Utrecht?

I would like to continue to learn Dutch intensively in Amsterdam in either a small classroom format or 1-2-1 tuition - preferably daytime courses fulltime or in mornings or afternoons every weekday.
I am currently at an intermediate level, whereby I can read something like the NRC Next using a dictionary for new words I am at a stage whereby I need to increase my vocabulary, know how to use prepositions more accurately, improve my complex sentence structures and build my confidence speaking.
I would like to attend daytime lessons for 6 - 10 hours per week in Oct & Nov 2006. I am learning dutch because my partner is Dutch & I would like to be able to easily enjoy time with friends & family here.
