I'm a beginner, from ground level. I have no basic knowledge of French. I want to learn French to advance myself in the field of linguistics. I speak Russian as well and feel a particular pull to French, French was spoken in the Nobility in Old Russia. I would like to learn grammar usage and proper conversationa l French for everyday use. I am ready to devote a good deal of time to studying French. Desire that lessons be exciting and knowledgable. Expect the Teacher to be pleasant, but strict and easy to talk to.

I took french when I was in high school, but haven't used it since. I have always wanted to learn to speak fluently, and want to live in France someday, though I want to speak the language well before I go there. I have travelled to France a couple of times and have picked up the most basic words, so I am a total beginner. I love France and the culture and I'm very keen to be able to communicate. I am travelling to Paris and Cannes in 4 weeks time. Unfortunately I have not given myself much time to learn...lack of organisation I guess. Thats another story:) I live in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney and am interested in intensive private tutoring before I leave...maybe 2 or 3 times a week depending on the rates.
I see myself as a reasonably intelligent person and am quite a quick learner, however I would like the teacher to be patient and understanding , as I find learning a new language very confronting.
