I haven't taken my first class in Mandarin Chinese yet. However, I would like to have myself and my daughter take the class. As the world is becoming flat, I am interested in making sure that my daughter and I have the skills necessary to interact with a diverse population.
I am willing to spend as much time as needed upto 6 hours a week.
I am looking for a teacher that is very proficient in the language. The teacher should be very effective in teaching the language and also be very organized as far as lesson plans.

I'm a complete beginner, no Mandarin experience whatsoever. I'm interested in becoming as proficient as possible because I plan on moving to Shanghai in the fall of 2008.
