I'm a serious student of Mandarin who is seeking to achieve conversationa l fluency by April 2015 in order to travel to China, not as a tourist, but with friends (who are from China) in order to experience the local communities and culture. I have been taking small-group lessons for six months, but find its progress too slow for my goals. I am therefore seeking private lessons.

Looking to visit China soon on business (Agriculture, exporting Angus beef breeding cattle), I am also very interested in China's development as a global superpower, it's history and culture, having read several background books on the country and it's people.
So I wish to learn the language for use in business relationships in China. Also being mature age learning this language should help maintain and stimulate my cognitive skills.
I am a beginner, looking to do at least one lesson 1-2 hours a week and prepared to travel to meet the teacher one on one or in class. I have trialled online and found reception on video link unsatisfactor y.
I am hoping to find a teacher who is native Chinese, patient and able to lead me through lot's of practice.
