My parents were both born in Karnataka and I was born and raised in the United States. I was basically taught enough Kannada to converse in simple conversations . I want to learn more because I don't have the grammar down completely and I would like to learn the language fully so I can converse in any situation. I need to improve in grammar, conversation, and vocabulary. I am willing to dedicate around 10 hours a week to language lessons and I prefer to do them through online chatting. Finally, I am looking for a teacher that will have patience with me and will teach me Kannada starting from the basics.

I spoke Hungarian when I was little but slowly forgot it when I grew up. I understand it very fluently but have trouble replying in Hungarian. I know so many phrases and words in my head but when I try to speak it I get nervous. Not enough practice.
I know a few words and phrases in Polish, but I need lessons. Please contact me if you are a Polish speaker.

My husband is Romanian, and many of our friends are Romanian. Most importantly, his mother, uncle and grandmother are still in Romania and do not speak English.
I need to be able to communicate with his family and friends. It is also very important to my husband that I learn his language.
I need someone other than my husband to teach me. I also need to have some sort of routine and/or weekly schedule to learn the language. I expect to meet with someone at least once a week for an hour or so, and of course practice throughout the week.
My proficiency in Romanian is limited to say the least. I did however, study French for a number of years in highschool and college, so I have somewhat of a very basic understanding of the latin language which does help a little.
Th e qualities I am looking for in a teacher are simply professionali sm, and results oriented.

I am a beginner and I want to learn Mandarin. We have Rosetta stone Mandarin levels 1 and 2 and I have been using this but it doesn't compare with learning from a person. I am also not very far along in this study. My husband and I are going to be living in an area where Mandarin is dominate within the next two years and I want to be extremely efficient before we arrive. Well, at least survival: locations, able to give and recieve directions, feelings, weather, family and culture domains, food, shopping, etc. I would like to learn all areas of the language but conversation and reading would be good to focus on first. I will have a lot of time to devote to learning in the Fall and Spring of this year as I will be mainly staying at home raising our one child. I am able to start at the begining of September 2007. I am looking for a teacher who incorporates songs and other non-standard methods of teaching. I can learn in more formal settings so some formality and standard teaching methods would be okay for most of the time but I need change and variety when learning as well. I would prefer to work with a woman who is sensitive to the demands of being a parent and wife.
