I was born and raised in America but I am Indian so I do know some Hindi . I would like to learn how to speak it as well as learn how to write it if time permits and im hoping it will only take a few months to pick up. I am a beginning Japanese learner, I have no formal classroom experience for learning japanese, and I have been learning on my own. I do however have help from my girlfriend who is from tokyo. I am learning for a few reasons, 1) because it will make getting through the language requirement of a major university easier, 2) to help with getting around japan, 3) to have a new venue of conversation with my girlfriend. I need help especially with comprehension of spoken japanese, and if possible kanji. I can devote adaquate time for study, at least an hour of two per night. I really want a patient teacher who doesn't mind me asking a bunch of seemingly stupid questions to help me get a broad and comprehensive understanding of the language.
