Sensei,
I am at the advanced beginner level, after two months in Tokyo, and some self-study in US (have completed 'Japanese For Busy People Book One' and several other introductory texts). I have learned hiragana and katakana but unfortunately do not have the time to learn kanji or truly learn to read or write. My goal would be 'advanced conversation. ' I work with Japanese people on occasion and plan to travel in Japan again this year or next. I would like to be able to have basic conversations in Nihongo, and also be able to function in restaurants, hotels, public places, etc. Basically, to be able to talk to the person sitting next to me on the Shinkansen, if that person speaks no English.
I'm looking for one hour a week lesson via online computer voice chat (SKYPE for example). And for a teacher who does not mind focussing on conversation and vocabulary.

i went to Japan this summer and became very interested in the language and culture of japanese people. i want to study japanese and be able to communicate with japanese individuals. i have made friends over there, but thru email, they do all the translating from and to english. i want to be able to learn their language so we can communicate both ways, as well.
i have never taken Japanese language, so i would be a beginner in every way.
not only do i want to learn the language to communicate, i would like to learn the culture and what is proper and what is not appropriate over there.

I am a beginner working for a Japanesse company. I am working in technology and seek to better communicate with other member of my company. I can devote 2 hours of classroom time per week plus perhaps 3 hours of home study.
The perfect instructor would be able to meet me in Vernon Hills at my place of employment where we could have a dedicated private room for instruction.
