I am a first generation Iranian-Ameri can and would like to brush up on my conversation skills in Farsi. My goals are to learn more expressions, grammar, and conversate fluently. I am requesting to learn the Persian language, Dari specifically, because I am pursing the Southwest Asia Area for Graduate School. I have applied to two specific Graduate Schools in that area of interest and have applied to the USAID to work in Afghanistan. I come from an extensive Military background. I deployed once to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. I had the honor to work on education development in Afghanistan, and developed a passion for the country. This is my passion in life and I am wanting to prepare for school or vocation.
While I worked in Afghanistan, I learned some specific phrases. Most of the time, however, I used an interpreter for translation.
I would need to start at the beginner's level.
I will dedicate up to three hours per a week for lessons, and as many required per a week for studies.
I am looking for a teacher that can understand my learning pace and can develop the teachings around it.

I would like to brush up on some of the language exposure that I have had growing up. I speak Farsi at home all the time, and can read at a beginner level. I would also like to be able to use Farsi for career advancement. I need improvement in reading and writing and some advanced conversationa l skills. I would be willing to take class at least once per week.
I want the teacher to be able to use simple approaches to teach the language.
