I am proficient in Spanish having learnt the language throuhout university. I was able to practice and apply daily as I lived with an international living group consisiting of more than 60% native speakers. I have also traveled through Spain, and Peru.
It has been 2 years since I graduated and had the luxury of speaking Spanish frequently. I will be returning to Hong Kong for a month in December this year (2006) for a month before I head South to Ecuador for some community development projects; I am hoping to find a conversation partner / tutor to help undust my language skills during that month, preferably 2 times a week.

I am new to speaking Kiswahili but can understand the language fairly well. I am in love with African continent and wish to be able to speak one of its languages. I would also enjoy being able to communicate with my family. I am basically starting from scratch so I will need to build a foundation and go from there. I am looking for an unconventiona l teacher, i.e. I want t learn in other ways then just from a text book. I enjoy hands on learning, games, conversationa l/practical learning. I might consider myself an intermediate speaker. I studied Portuguese in Brazil for a month in college, 101 and 102. I am proficient in Italian and Spanish, which helps me to understand spoken Portuguese. Because of this, my grammar is pretty decent, but my vocabulary is lacking. I am a little rusty, but am a very fast learner when it comes to languages. I love Brazil and have been twice, and hope to go again this summer to visit friends and do volunteer work. I want to learn it purely for conversationa l and travel purposes. I love languages and have studied linguistics and would love to be better at portuguese, but cannot take classes on a regular basis due to my work schedule and being out of town often. Therefore meeting might be 3 times a week for a week or two, then not at all for another week or two.
