I have been around Spanish speaking people my entire life and have a basic understanding of the language. My boyfriend and I are interested in becomming adequate enough for conversation and to translate business policies due to his business in construction. 99% of his workforce is from South America so there is a significant launguage barrier. We are very committed to learning and will take whatever time is necesary to accomplish a basic skill level.

I am an advanced beginner. I have many opportunities to practice speaking Spanish. I work at a luxury hotel and would like to converse with our guests and co-workers who speak spanish. My girlfriend also speaks Spanish as a first language. I need immediate improvement with conversation, but I'd also like to write grammatically correct. I have studied up to level II intermediate in the University 2 years ago. I have probably dropped back to a beginning intermediate level. I am looking to reach an advanced level by fall 2006 for my applications to business school. I will be able to dedicate up to 12 hrs per week and am looking for particular help with conversation.

I have an intermediate/ advanced facility in Spanish, and speak Brazilian Portuguese with near fluency. I wish to solidify my Spanish, and weed out some poor grammatical habits- also reflexive verbs are a stumbling point- they are just the opposite in Portuguese!
I hope to dedicate a few evenings a week to study.
I would like someone who is relatively young like me (I am 29) who has not only a by-the-book language skill, but who also is aware of colquial language, and who is fun to talk with!! I also generally respond better to female teachers, if that is an option.
