GCE O level French (also Spanish & Latin) 50 years ago! Can still hold simple conversation and still remember most grammatical constructs.
Retiring at end of April and intend to move to France permanently in 3 or 4 years time. Need to improve conversationa l fluency and refresh grammar.
Loo king for a couple of 1 or 2 hour lessons per week.
Althou gh I shall be using the services of bilingual lawyers etc. for property purchase in France, a knowledge of basic french property & inheritance law (in french!) would be useful.

I am a beginner, I have a home language course at home though the books I use are quite conflicting, where some words have other meanings. I am learning Russian as I have always been interested in the language and country since the age of 10. I am learning it because a) I want too, b) It is good for a career advancement and c) I would like to live in Russia for a while. I can spend 6 hours a week or more on learning as I currently 7 days a week but only in 45 minute slots. I want to get to a good level of communication , I also know this will take a long time but this is something I really want to learn, i would like to understand more on the gender nouns as well as verbs.

I'm hoping to build on the Arabic I learned, as a reserve medical soldier giving out aid in Oman and Iraq. My present aim is career development and for the general enrichment of learning, as well as to further my ambitions to be a community nurse. Would love to enhance and develop my presently amateur level of Arabic, as it enabled me to overcome some cultural misunderstand ings and, with my colleagues, give help and care to vulnerable people. (This particular story concerns an Omani woman who went into labour on my medical team!)
Am honest and reliable, willing to work hard. While my spoken level is reasonable my knowledge of grammar, spelling and syntax need improvement. Prepared to devote as much time as necessary - looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher. Tried to get on the Nottingham University Open Studies course...but it was full. No luck searching elsewhere around Notts either. Any contact from a proficient tutor with reasonable rates woiuld be gratefully received.
