I am a 24-year-old journalist who will be moving to Thailand in the next few months. I have never tried to learn the Thai language before but I was told that it is worthless to try and learn from a book; learning from a teacher is the best way, I was told. So I was wondering if someone could meet with me for an hour 2 days a week (or whatever schedule works for you) so that I could get a basic grasp of the language.
I am a very good student. I recently graduated from college with a degree in Journalism with a 3.8 GPA. I am flexible on price and would like to take classes for the next 2 months. thanks so much.

I wish to learn Thai as I spend a lot of time in Thailand and it would assist me in day to day life activities plus help me with my property out there. I am a beginner as I only know common phrases and words. I would have to learn of a night or weekend and want to have a fluently spoken teacher in both languages to help teach me to speak Thai fluently.

I'm a total beginer in Thai so I have everything to learn! I'm generally very interested in languages and I'll be entering in a linguistic undergraduate program in Fall 2008.
What I am most worried with Thai is the pronounciatio n and reading since the grammar seems to be extremely easy for someone's who's native language is French.
I would like to have private classes or in a small group if possible
