I would like to learn mandarin because it is a very usefull language which many people today are learning. I am a beginner in mandarin but have taken mandarin when I was a kid. I have taken mandarin in class for two years now in grade 9 and 10 this year, I dont think being taught in class is working so I am looking for another alterative way. Also being taught mandarin by my dad doesnt really help either since he cant speak english. I would dedicate 2-3 weeeks for an hour and a half- two hrs to be taught mandarin. I'm looking for a fun teacher that has fun teaching skills that will teach me how to read, write and speak mandarin. Also a teacher that is easy going and is willing to teach me and to supply me with books if they use them.

After living for 2 years in Singapore and making many ethnic chinese friends, I found the need to know the Mandarin language as that is the most commonly used during conversation amongst friends and informal setting.
Y our proficiency level (e.g., beginner, etc.).
Besides knowing few words and few basics about 4 different tones of Mandarin, I consider myself as a beginner.
The areas in which you feel you need particular improvement (e.g., grammar, conversation, etc.), if any.
I would like to focus more on conversation aspects of Mandarin.
How much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons.
3-4 hours everyday
W hat qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher.
The teacher should teach the langauge in a logical manner and should use interactive session to groom the conversation skills.
