I am a beginner in Portuguese. (I have taken some Spanish classes which is similar to Portuguese). I am interested in learning Brazilian Portuguese because my husband is Brazilian-Ame rican. When we have children, I would like them to be bi-lingual in Portuguese and English. I will speak English and Andrew will speak Portuguese. I would like to understand what he's saying. Also, I would like to be able to speak to Andrew's grandmother in Brazilian Portuguese. I need improvement in all seven langugage areas of Brazilian Portuguese... speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation , grammar, reading, and writing. I would like a minimum of two hours a week of lessons. I am an English as a Foreign Language teacher, and although I like I structured lesson, I think I may learn more quickly if my lessons are more communicative ...focused especially on speaking and listening. I have absolutely no experience with Turkish, but I will be studying abroad in Ankara this fall, and would like to learn some Turkish before then; as much as possible.
I would like to take lessons at night (after 5:30pm), for 2-4 hours a week.
I am looking for a teacher that has some experience teaching Turkish to native-Englis h speakers who have no background in Turkish.
