I am a Chef in training at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary school and will be going to Paris for an externship. I do not speak French and working in a fast pace Paris kitchen, that can be a big problem. I would like to become familar with some basic terms and be able to understand key culinary terms words i.e....vegeta bles, kitchen items, and basic comands.
I am currently in school from 7 a.m until 2:00 p.m. I am able to set aside time from 2:30~ until 4:00 M-F or later in the evening depending on determined schedule. I work part time but could arrange a certain time per week.
I would like to find a teacher that is understanding and friendly.

I want to learn Mandarin Chinese to the point of flawless fluency. I went to a boarding school and many of my friends are from Taiwan. I know simple phrases, but desperately want to know how to write Chinese characters. I also had a Czech teacher and Moldovan friend who spoke Russian although I have always been fascinated with the language. I intend on traveling to both China and Russia in the future and would like to speak both fluently. I am very good at languages (French, Spanish, English) and quick on the uptake. I would be willing to devote a lot of time to the learning of each language.

ONE OR TWO EVENINGS A WEEK
I am currently at a fairly advanced level of Spanish. My goal is to become completely fluent. I need practice in conversation. ..especially in wielding preterite vs. imperfect.... I know the text book uses, but need help in everyday situations and telling stories. Also need help with advanced subjunctive situations... again that would come up in everyday conversations . Want to build my vocabulary, everyday vocabulary and literary vocabulary. I Would like to read literature short stories or novels. (Have been reading stories by Isabel Allende and have had to look up lots of words!) I watch Spanish movies and sometimes have trouble understanding the dialog....esp ecially if the actors/actres ses are from Spain! Bueno, estudié español en la universidad y soy maestra de español en el secundario, pero sólo de niveles uno y dos! Me da vergüenza haber estudiado español en la universidad y ser maestra de español y no poder hablar con fluidez perfecta, o por lo menos a un nivel más avanzado!! Pasé 7 semanas en Centroamérica este verano, tres viajando por Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua y Costa Rica, y cuatro estudiando en una escuela de idiomas en Costa Rica. El verano que viene lo tengo pensado ir a Panamá, a Chile, a la Argentina, y a España y quiero estar bien preparada para poder comunicarme con los nativos con facilidad e inteligencia! Quiero sentirme inteligente cuando hablo en español!!! Hay tanto que quiero y necesito aprender!!!
