oi,
i only know a few individual words.
the reason i would like to learn portuguese... ..i visited brasil last year.....and realized how limited i was in engaging the wonderful brazilian people.....so me day i would like to move to brasil. at this point i am mainly interested in conversationa l portuguese.
in the begining i am not sure about how much time to spend learning..... maybe you could help me determine that.
i think the most difficult part will be pronunciation .
qualities of tutor ?....i am not sure....maybe just overall a good teacher
do you have books and other materials to study with ?

I want to learn a foreign language out of personal interest, the languages being French and Portuguese. I'm looking forward to converse in these languages with proficiency. I am a quick learner and will make extra efforts from my end as well to learn the language.
The time I want to dedicate to these language lessons is atmost two hours a day.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher are basically patience, knowledge of the English language, and a considerate amount of understanding .

I would like to learn Portuguese because I have always been fascinated with that language. I am not proficient in it at all, hence the desire to learn. I hope that in time, I can be fluent in reading, writing and comprehension . It would be most gratifying for me if I can actually write articles in Portuguese. Alas, I don't have much time as work takes up my whole week, but I could have Sunday afternoons for it. I don't mind going slow as long as I can learn. I hope I can find a teacher who is VERY patient in teaching a beginner.
