I am interested in learning conversationa l Vietnamese. My family is Vietnamese and I have a basic understanding of the language but was encouraged as a child to speak English instead. I've never gone to Vietnamese grammar school and would eventually like to learn how to read and write in Vietnamese. My main goal however is to speak the language and broaden my vocabulary. I live in Union Square and would like to take classes once a week or bimonthly depending on your rates. I'm looking for a teacher with a northern accent.

I am actually a parent of a three and a half year old. I would like to have my child exposed to foreign languages at as early an age as possible. I am looking for someone who would be willing, and preferably experienced, in working with children. If possible, I would like to have someone who is available 3 - 4 days per wk, for an hour so each day. I would be willing to have him tutored in my home or yours. W hy Learn Chinese: We have a very close relationship now with a family in Taiwan. We hosted their daughter as an exchange student during her year at a Florida high school last year. We have since gone to Taiwan to visit her and her family. Our families are now very closely connected. I would like to be able to communicate with them better in their own language when we call and/or visit each other in the future.
