I am at beginners level. At the moment I cannot speak a word of Portuguese.
I have recently accepted a position working offshore Angola onboard an oil drilling rig.
We have many local employees onboard.
Thi s is a long term position; 4 years +.
It would be an advantage for me to communicate with the local Men; and, Women onboard; and, also to them.
My rotation is; 4 weeks Angola /4 weeks U.K. Scotland.

I have picked up a little Portuguese over the years but I want to be fluent. I would consider myself a complete begginer as I have never had any formal learning.
I am mostly interested in Portuguese because I find myself around Brazilians from time to time. I have trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1999 and that is where I have picked up a few words.
I am willing to dedicate the amount of time the teacher felt I needed in order to become fluent and confident in speaking Portuguese.
I am looking for a teacher who has also been a student and knows what a student goes through to speak another language.

I want to learn because I have a Brazilian Boyfriend and spend alot of time with Brazilian people so I need to be able to converse

I am looking for a tutor for my children, ages 7 and 11. They have been attending Portuguese school for two years now but I find that they are not learning very much. My husband is portuguese and I have learned to speak it as well, however, we speak only english at home. I am looking for two hours a week preferably at our house on the weekends.
