Hello,
My name is Tammy, and I am interested in learning to speak (and read/write) Dutch. I am a beginner but hope to become fluent. The reason that I want to learn Dutch is because I am planning to move to Holland for school and I would like to take the classes in Dutch. The qualities that I am looking for in an instructor would be that they have confidence in their ability to teach and also to provide written information and activities that I can do on my own to improve my skills. I want there to be a friendly respectful relationship between us.

During the past two years, I have spent half my time in the
Netherla nds with my partner. He speaks excellent American
Eng lish, so we can communicate. However, as we have a committed relationship and I am very happy in Amsterdam, I
feel it is time for me to learn his language and the language of his beautiful country. I do not expect to become
fluen t, as Dutch is a difficult language for English speakers, but I want to be able to converse with his friends,
mak e my way around in the native language, and learn more
about the culture of the Netherlands through the language.
I am a complete beginner. I am looking for a tutor who is
patient, gentle, helpful in conversation and pronunciation
rather than perfect grammar, and can educate me in cultural
sla ng and chat-ability. I especially want to learn the
'Amsterd am Dutch', as that is where my partner lives.
