I am a beginner in Portuguese. I don't know all that much, only some expressions. I want to learn more because I have a friend in Brasil whom I recently went to visit and I plan on visiting again for months at a time. I want to learn how to have a proper conversation and I want to be able to understand others who are speaking to me. I am able to dedicate a few hours each week to reach this goal. I want someone who can answer my questions easily, someone who understands how difficult it is to teach a language to someone and someone who takes the care and time to actually teach me what I need/want to know.

I took Latin for 6 years, Spanish for 4, and Italian during a summer. I am a very quick learner with Romance languages, thanks to the Latin, and already know some basic stuff in almost every Romance language.

I would like to start as a beginner. Although my country's language mostly originated in Spanish, I could say I undertand more of Spanish. The fact that spanish are mostly similar with portuguese, I believe I could easily learn portuguese. My plan to learn portuguese is in line with my career advancement as our clients are portuguese speaking countries and would only communicate the only language they know of, portuguese. And most specially, I would like to learn the Portuguese portuguese and not of Brazilian portuguese.
