Hello,
I am an aspiring learner of Mandarin Chinese and I am very interested in receiving lessons in order to increase my limited level of conversationa l fluency. I would like to learn Mandarin for both personal and professional reasons. I would very much someday like to be involved in international banking, and adding Mandarin Chinese to the Spanish and Thai that I already am somewhat adept at is my primary language goal at this time.
My main area of concern at this point is conversationa l, to learn both grammar and vocabulary, and to actually learn and speak to someone face to face rather than learn from a book or a tape (which can be somewhat limiting). I would like to dedicate enough time to become fluent and comfortable in numerous daily activities, as well as in a general business context.
I am looking for a teacher who can teach me the conversationa l basics, the cultural formalities, and who can push me to learn quickly yet very accurately. I love learning languages, and I believe that I have an affinity for picking up languages quickly due to excellent memory skills.
I live in Bellingham, WA, which is only 45 min. from Vancouver BC, and would be completely willing to commute to Vancouver for lessons at least once a week. I currently travel to Vancouver almost weekly as I very much enjoy the diverse culture the city has to offer. Thank you for your consideration .

I have little to no proficiency at this time. My company is based in Taiwan and over 95% of my co-workers are Chinese. My goal is to gain basic conversation skills that I can use for career advancement and personal growth. I believe that it is becoming very important to adopt Mandarin as a second language.

I am a beginner in the Bengali language. I would like to learn Bengali because I hope to go to Calcutta sometime again soon. ( I have been there before) I need improvement and help in all areas!
