I would like to learn to speak tagalog to communicate better with friends, and mainly just to learn a different language. Besides the little words I know, I have zero experience with the language. So I would say my skill level is 0. I would like to dedicate at least an hour or two a day 5 days a week so that I may learn to speak the language fluently. The qualities I'm looking for in a instructor are professionali sm, knowledge of the language, and patience and the willingness to work with me.

My daughter of 9 and myself want to learn my native language because I have forgotten it which is terrible cos I haven't spoken it since I was 8 yrs old and want the both of us to speak fluently! We would like an hour or 2 a week in the wkend in our house :)

I would like to learn Tagalog to a good conversationa l level so I can communicate more easily with local people in the Philippines, as well as organising trips, buying food at local markets and meeting people as well.
Although I know a few basic words and phrases, I'm still very much beginner level.
I would prefer to receive private lessons or in very small groups of 2-3 people because I am deaf (born this way) which makes it that much harder to learn a new language. Therefore, any teacher I meet would need to be patient and understanding . Online (via email, text chat etc) tuition would also help back up everything.
I could spare 3-4 hours for in person tuition and twice that online. I prefer weekdays because I work permanent shifts in a restaurant on Friday to Sunday nights.
