My name is Michelle Spada and I am a Vanderbilt University student currently studying abroad in Shanghai. Here in Shanghai, I have been taking Beginning 1 Mandarin classes. I will be back in Nashville for the summer (June 20-August 18) and would like to work with a tutor to ensure that I do not lose everything I learned here. Ideally, I would like to advance through Beginning 2 by the end of the summer. I would like to dedicate around 2-4 hours per week for tutoring sessions. I am looking for a teacher who can easily explain Mandarin grammer and practice oral Mandarin with me.

I am a bilingual English and Arabic and I am interested in learning a new language, so Mandarin Chinese came to mind. I do not have any knowledge in the language so I am a beginner. I want to learn to speak and possibly write the Mandarin language. I do not have specific time for learning the language as long as I get the chance to understand it well. I want a teacher who knows how to deliver the information and be able to have good skills in communication . And also know that I am a beginner so that means patients is highly recommended.
