My husband and his entire family are Slovakian. All except my husband and his sister still live in Slovakia. His first language is Slovak, however his work requires long hours so he is unable to teach me in any real form. I know approximately 20 words total. I might go to a language school in Bratislava in a few months, but I would like to try other routes first, or in addition to the schooling.

I do not speak Pashto at all, I want to learn for personal growth pushing my knowledge capacity beyond the normal expected everyday life in the U.S. I have 4-8 hours a day to devote to leaning Pashto. ??!Or, hello! I am learning Mandarin Chinese, so I can hope to travel there again and maybe find a career becoming a translator/in terpreter. I am probably at an intermediate level, but low intermediate. I have a decent knowledge of words and characters, but still have a very hard time feeling comfortable speaking it. I definitely need help with my conversation, and being able to speak efficiently with a native speaker. I'll dedicate as much time as I need to, but for the time being I'm available Tuesdays and Thursdays, and can easily travel to Salt Lake City or surrounding areas. I hope to look for a full immersion in the lessons. I really need someone to speak the language to, so I can be able to practice it and get better and better in speaking it with others. The main purpose of all this is to be confident and comfortable with speaking Mandarin.
