I taught myself to read, after a fashion, Czech books about Czechoslovak postage stamps. I have translated about 50 of these into English and they are quite popular with stamp collectors in the English speaking world. However, I am having difficulty mastering vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar and must resort to a dictionary for almost every word. I have Skype with video and voice, if that is an asset. I have visited the Czech Republic several times during the past few years but I have never learned to speak or write Czech.

My proficiency level for the Czech language is beginner. I would like to learn this language because my new daughter-in-l aw is from the Czech Republic. I also spend time visiting her family periodically. It would be very useful to understand the language. I prefer to learn conversationa l Czech. I am flexible as to the necessary time to take classes. Feel it would be best to have someone to speak with while I am learning, so I can hear the correct inflection of the words. It would be most beneficial if the teacher was in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area.

I am definitely a beginner in the Czech language as I have only just began to look into learning the language. My father is Czech and my relatives from his side of my family all live in Prague. I hope to learn the language so that one day I will be able to travel to Prague and be able to communicate with my relatives.
I was thinking about a one hour class a week and I could also practice for the rest of the week.
