My parents were both born in Karnataka and I was born and raised in the United States. I was basically taught enough Kannada to converse in simple conversations . I want to learn more because I don't have the grammar down completely and I would like to learn the language fully so I can converse in any situation. I need to improve in grammar, conversation, and vocabulary. I am willing to dedicate around 10 hours a week to language lessons and I prefer to do them through online chatting. Finally, I am looking for a teacher that will have patience with me and will teach me Kannada starting from the basics.

Hi,
I want to learn to speak in Kannada and understand spoken Kannada, since a lot of people I know speak Kannada. I have very rudimentary knowledge, absolutely beginner level, although I know a few basic words (like numbers 1 to 10, naanu, neenu, neevu, avanu, avaru, idu, adu, hesaru, ...). But i don't know verbs, and i find it difficult to understand, remember or form the various forms of verbs according to the tense (past, present, ..) or person (1st/2nd/3rd person), even for basic sentences.
I don't know whether i can learn effectively through email or chat, but i want to give it a shot, since i really want to be reasonably fluent in Kannada in 3 months. I can spend 1 hour a day on kannada lessons.
I am looking for a teacher who has a structured kannada course with lessons that can be sent through email or chat, and who can focus on verbal or spoken kannada, rather than the script. The lessons should preferably be in english, but use Hindi or Marathi is absolutely fine, if a certain term or concept cannot be explained in english.
