I am the son of Czech parents born in India and speak a form of kitchen Czech with a limited knowledge of grammar and writing and spelling. I can conduct a reasonable conversation in Czech and am told that grammatically it hangs together.
I wish to improve my Czech language knowledge to a level wher I can read and write and of course converse.

My husband is from the Czech Republic but he is not a good teacher, I know only a few basic phrases in Czech and would be classified as a beginner.
I would like to learn Czech as we are planning to move over there in a year or so.
I would be available to attended a class once a week if possible.

I have been learning Czech on and off for approximately 3 years. I have also visited the Czech Republic on six occassions. I would describe my level as beginner, my knowlege of vocabulary is better than my grammar. Although I am a beginner I really love the Czech language and culture. I am familiar with certain elements of Czech culture such as the film Kolya, music by Karel Kryl and Daniel Landa, many of the famous Czech sports stars and of course the famous Czech beers.
My aim is to be able to communicate in more depth when I visit the Czech Republic. Meeting and communicating with new people is a real incentive to study.
I am 26 and have just finnished my MA degree in Museum Studies and now have more time to commit to learning Czech.

I spent 11 months in Czech Republic where I learnt basic of Czech and I'd like to continue learning it because I see it as a challenge, especially with the 7 forms.
I'm currently working full time, so I can only have the class part-timely after work. Hence, the most suitable study hours would be around 2-4 hours/week.
