I will be travelling throughout Italy for 2 weeks in July/August and would like to learn some basic 'tourist' Italian phrases. I am very much a beginner in Italian, although I did learn French at school - a very long time ago. English is the only language I can speak, and as a Primary school teacher (at an International school in Singapore), I am aware of the importance of grammar, etc, in any language. I am most interested in conversationa l Italian and I imagine that I could manage 2-3 sessions per week, eg one/two night and one or two sessions on the weekend. Obviously, cost of lessons is an important factor in our decision (mine and the teacher's). Naturally, I would appreciate a patient, experienced Italian language speaker/teach er. Please don't hold my age against me as I would very much like to learn Italian. I do not expect to be proficient in such a short time, but conversationa l greetings, counting, daily phrases would be useful. I do not intend having any 'deep and meaningful' Italian conversations in the two weeks I am there. Please contact me if you are available to help. Yours sincerely.
