I am a beginner, I have an understanding when reading because of its similiarity with french. I would like to learn portuguese because I am traveling to Brasil soon and I think it's a very beautiful language. I would like to take classes at least twice a week, maybe more. I would like a native Brazilian teacher, who could teach me the language but also the culture.

I am a beginner, mas eu entendo bastante. I want to be able to pass the vestibular for gastronomia. I want to be able to read,write, and speak for myself also. I need improvments in all areas. I need repetition. I am willing to devote most of my time, I am only a student, meaning I need to be cost effective. I want a teacher that is dedicated to me and my progression, creative with method of learning, and personal with not only being a good teacher but a friend too.

I have been teaching myself for the past year using books and CD's. At this time I am probably a high beginner or a low intermediate student of Portuguese.
I am a 5th grade teacher in a public school. Last year I had a student from Brazil. I began learning Portuguese in order to encourage him to try to speak English, as well as to better communicate with his parents.
Although the child has returned to Brazil, I remain friends with his mother. We communicate via email and telephone calls.
I can probably spend 1-2 hours per week on lessons at this time. I would like to learn to speak and comprehend spoken language better.
