I can read and write in Ukrainian, but I don't understand it. My conversation skills are extremely basic and limited. My reason for learning the language is that I was brought up in a Ukrainian family that rarely spoke the language, but I've always had a strong desire to learn. I hope to travel to Ukraine in the future too. My goal is to be able to carry on conversations in Ukrainian at an intermediate level with ease and to be able to have a good understanding of someone speaking Ukrainian. I would like to meet with my tutor twice a week with intensive training and I am interested in getting a University level teacher. I want a teacher that will teach me casually but will jump in and correct my mistakes. I would prefer a talkative teacher so that I can absorb as much Ukrainian as possible. My teacher should have lessons for me to work on between our meetings, like perhaps a list of verbs to focus on and basic Ukrainian reading material.

My name is Ola, I am 28 years old. I have lived and worked in Germany for 7 months now and while Polish is my native language, I can fluently communicate in English and in German and also quite well in Swedish.
I am a beginner in Ukrainian (I know some basic words + I can write in the Ukrainian cyryllic alpahbet). I have learnt Russian but forgotten most of the language.
This means I need general lessons of the language; I would like to focus on speaking, listening and reading - and then writing.
I have a personal interest in Ukraine and I like the language very much. I am a passionate foreign language learner and devote much of my free time to learning, as I treat it as a hobby.
I could devote ca. 2 hours (120 minutes) weekly to learn the laguage (i.e. lessons; on top of that I can do homework etc.). Sometimes however (not very often) I would have to cancel lessons becuase of business travel. I have free evenings (5.30 - 6.00 pm onwards) and weekends.
I would like to have face to face lessons. I would like the teacher to have language teaching experience (but not necessarily in Ukrainian). It is not that important whether the teacher has formal diploma in teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language.
